BOULDER- Jarek Broussard, Sam Noyer, and Nate Landman are the first CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow, of the fall season.
Week of November 9-15
Colorado Football's Jarek Broussard is the CU Athlete of the Week, presented by Arrow.
Broussard started at tailback for the Buffs and burst onto the college scene in his first career game in a 48-42 CU win over UCLA. The sophomore rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns, adding 21 yards receiving. His 187 yards rushing and 208 total yards are the most gained by a player in their first game as a Buff. Broussard was named both co-Offensive Player of the Game by the program and Offensive Player of the Week by the Pac-12. Only one player in the country amassed as many yards on the ground than Broussard over the weekend.
The back's record-breaking performance on Folsom Field in week one was made all the sweeter by what the Dallas native has gone through early in his collegiate career. After redshirting his freshman season in 2018, he missed all of 2019 with a knee injury. Broussard went to work rehabbing the injury and shined in a shortened training camp, finishing atop the depth chart for the Buffs at tailback.
Week of November 16-22
Colorado Football's Sam Noyer and Nate Landman are the co-CU Athletes of the Week, presented by Arrow.
Noyer started at quarterback for the Buffs and completed 15-of-24 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns through the air in a Buffs 35-32 victory at Stanford. The senior also rushed for 36 yards and two more scores in his impressive follow-up to the opener. Noyer is the first Buff to run and pass for two touchdowns in a game since Sefo Liufau in 2015.
Noyer was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for his performance, and the co-Offensive Player of the Game by the program. Through the first two weeks of the season, he is the highest-graded QB in the Pac-12, according to Pro Football Focus College.
Landman led the Buffs in tackles in the victory against the Cardinal with 17 total, 14 of which were solo. With the performance, the senior cracked the program's top-20 list in all-time tackles (303) and is just the 17th Buff to record 300 career stops.
Landman was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance, and the co-Defensive Player of the week by the team.
